shabanu anticipation guide

1. Is it possible to experience love at first sight?
I disagree with this statement because if you fall in love with someone before you get to know them you will love them for the wrong reason. It is more important that you get to know them and their personality, and not get carried away by first impressions and appearance. Just as we are told not to judge a book by its cover, we must give time to get to know someone and not rely on first impressions only..

2) Two complete strangers stuck on a deserted island could learn to love one another (and yes, stay with one another after being rescued).
I both agree and disagree. I agree because when you are stuck with someone you get to know them. In this case, particularly, as they have to cope in difficult conditions they need to work together and trust each other and if they can survive being just the two of them, then it will easier in a more ordinary situation. On the other hand I disagree because it is possible that returning to normality each will go their separate way and live the life they were used to.

3 It is a good thing to sacrifice your happiness for the desires of others?
I agree but only up to a certain point and provided that someone is not taken advantage of. Parents always make sacrifices for their children because they take pleasure in seeing them happy and want to give them a better life than they had. I would be happy to make a sacrifice for a friend as I think it is part of our friendship to be able to share. But I would be angry and upset if this relationship was not mutual and I was taken advantage of.

4 Women in your society are free citizens.

I agree because women in our society have the right to vote and equal job opportunities. There are many women who have proven that it is possible to be as successful as men. But it is also up to the women to demand what is rightfully theirs and not to sit back and wait for it to be given. For example in some places in the countryside in Cyprus women may not be treated equally, because society is less modern but there has already been great improvement compared to the past.
