Rejection and mistreatment can manifest themselves in a person becoming rage-filled. Agree
I totally agree with this statement. One of the most important problems that schools face at all levels is bullying among pupils.
Bullying is basically making fun of, picking on or harassing somebody for what is perceived as either physical or mental differences or weaknesses from the rest of the school body.
If somebody goes to school every day and is made fun of then this will have a massive influence on their personality. When you have problems in a location where you spend a major amount of your time in, then it will definitely affect you and how you deal with other situations. For example you will be so upset from school than when you go home you might take out all of your anger on your parents, your brother or sister or even worse your pet which is completely defenceless and totally trusting.
Some of the effects of people being bullied are depression and anger. You will probably become really angry and touchy and react to every single thing, even innocent remarks that are not intended to hurt. You will be so frustrated that one day you will literally just lose it. One day all of the anger and frustration you are keeping inside you will just explode. This has happened several times in history. One such example is the Columbine shooting. On April 20th 1999 in Columbine High School, two senior students entered the school with guns and started shooting at other students. As a result of their rampage, 12 students and one teacher died while another 21 students were injured. The main reason why these two kids behaved in this way was because they had been bullied for a long period of time, one day they simply lost it and wanted revenge.

14. If a person or an animal is treated with cruelty, he will respond to others in the same way. Agree

“I found one day in school a boy of medium size ill treating a smaller boy. I expostulated, but he replied: ‘The bigs hit me, so I hit the babies; that’s fair.’ In these words he epitomised the history of the human race”- Bertrand Russell.
I definitely agree with this statement. When it comes to animals, such as dogs, this is not correct. Animals do not have an understanding of good or bad. If your dog does something wrong and you hit them, they won’t treat you in the same way. They don’t even know why they are in trouble let alone retaliate. All they know is that they are loyal and they love their boss and whatever their owner does is for a reason. When it comes to humans though it is the exact opposite. We humans need to understand that two wrongs don’t make a right. The fact is that for the most part, people who do things to others is because they have been treated badly as well. A good example for this, again, is bullying. School bullies usually have other motives for bullying. In most cases, a bully acts this way because he has other problems. For example if he is beaten at home he feels defenceless and he can’t do anything, so in his mind he picks on others in order to feel better about himself. They may have been bullied as well, so they need to make others feel the same way. Others are just mentally ill and just like seeing others hurt, Mark Twain said "Of all the animals, man is the only one that is cruel. He is the only one who inflicts pain for the pleasure of doing it”.
In general, people who have been treated badly are most likely to do the same to others. One of my favourite quotes that really applies to this is by Carl Jung, a Swiss Psychologist. : "The healthy man does not torture others - generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers"

axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-61909524248928916812010-12-09T14:44:00.000-08:002010-12-09T14:45:22.793-08:00

axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-57208467720126773932010-10-24T13:25:00.000-07:002010-10-24T13:37:35.249-07:00TKAM anticipation guide

If you are truly innocent then you have nothing to fear from a judicial system

Disagree

I strongly disagree with this argument. The judicial system is far from perfect. It has many flaws and you never know what could happen. In many cases in history, innocent people were sentenced to death but years after were proven to have been innocent. In an ideal world, the rule of law should protect everyone and the principle that everyone is innocent until proven guilty should be enough guarantee that someone who is innocent would not be unfairly treated. But there have been many examples of miscarriage of justice in democracies, let alone in countries which are dictatorships. The judicial system is run by human beings, they make mistakes. They may even be tempted to try and pin a crime on someone in order to satisfy public opinion or even to get a promotion. One example of this was the Scots borough trial when the court chose to believe lies by two white women rather than the testimony of nine black men who were accused of rape. They were found guilty, even though they were innocent and there was evidence to prove their innocence. Other examples were the trials in Britain of innocent Irish people who were framed by police and jailed for life as IRA terrorists. Later it was found the mistakes had been made and they were released.

In the same way as innocent people are put in jail, guilty people are set free. If a serial killer is found innocent due to lack of evidence, society must do what is necessary in order to protect itself. Many court decisions offend the sense of justice of ordinary people. Well trained lawyers do not care if their client is guilty or innocent, all they want to do is to make sure he or she is found innocent and they will use every trick in the book to achieve this. Police men and other responsible for bringing people to trial may be careless or make mistakes and as a result someone that everyone knows is guilty is released on a technicality, and because of the law that says that no-one can stand trial for the same crime twice, there is no way to bring him to justice. Although it is a film, 24 shows that society cannot fight terrorists unless it uses their methods. Agents have to break the laws so as to find out valuable information and prevent attacks. This means violating the judicial system but for the right reasons. Unfortunately the end justifies the means.

Money equates happiness.

Disagree

Even though having more money will probably make your life much easier, it does not necessarily mean that you will be happy. Our financial status, and having lots of money, should not influence our happiness. If you are poor, but loved by your friends and family who will always take care of you, you will be happy. Whereas, if your parents are rich but are never around and you are alone all the time, you probably will be unhappy. Happiness, equates love from the people around you. There are cases where money can help, rich people can afford better schools, better health care, food, trips and other opportunities. But just like money cannot buy love, on its own it cannot guarantee happiness.

2. This should be the basis of a healthy society and relationship. In our world though this is not possible because we are not mature enough. There are some things that are too big to be put aside. Even though good looks and personality are the most important elements in a romance, there are some things that us humans cannot get over, for example prejudice and grudges.axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-22185758616101115332010-09-15T06:38:00.000-07:002010-09-16T07:54:53.836-07:00"Work of Art" Gist Statement.

Characters: Sacha, Uhov, Doctor, Sachkin.

Setting: Moscow.

Conflicts: Gaudy, Embarrassed, Ironic, Candelabra.

It was a sunny day in Moscow, for a change, and the atmosphere in Sacha's house was filled with joy. Today was the biggest day of her life! At the age of 21 she'd be marrying her high school sweetheart, Uhov. The wedding was in a few hours and Sacha was getting ready. She tried 0n the gaudy dress her mother had given her. Suddenly the doorbell rang, and Sacha's mother went downstairs to see who it was. As she opened the door, she saw Uhov's brother panting and worried. "Uhov," he said and took a big breath, "he is very sick, i don't know what's wrong! You should go see him at the doctor." Sasha's mum was extremely worried and didn't know how she was going to break the news to her daughter. Meanwhile Sacha was worried a bit embarrassed to wear that dress in public. Her mother came upstairs and told her to sit down. " I need to tell you something, Uhov is sick and is at the doctor. I don't know much so you should go and see what is going on". Sasha could feel her heart breaking piece by piece as she got dressed and ran to the doctor's office. The office was really dark, lit by a candelabra. In total there were two rooms. The doctor's room and the waiting room. The waiting room was empty, as silent as a graveyard. Sacha stormed into the room and saw her husband lying on the piece of wood. She instantly knew that it was all over, since he could the only thing he could do is breathe and barely open his eyes. Sacha couldn't stop crying so she left the room and went to her mother who had just arrived. She thanked her mother for being supportive and caring by showing her gratitude. She went back into the room and the doctor left them alone. Sacha held Uhov's hand and his dying words were "Sachkin, I will always love you." Sacha fell into a depression and never got out of it, spending the rest of her life. It is tragic and ironic how the best day of your life, can turn out to be the worst one.

axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-89236809417079170652009-05-20T00:57:00.000-07:002009-05-21T10:59:26.313-07:00NEWS FLASH<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O9oNzi4FzEg/ShO4VFIaAUI/AAAAAAAAABk/TGbmxA_-QT0/s320/THE+DAILY.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337812655658369346" />
(Just incase you don’t remember what has been going on please visit my site http://axipower.blogspot.com/2009/01/crazy-frog-attack.html for a small recap) BREAKING NEWS!!! After a huge discussion between the producers of the Annoying Thing, a unanimous NO was announced, meaning that Crazy Frog’s career had come to an end. The producers showed no interest in negotiating with the outraged character. His last comments were: “This is a disgrace. Everyone will pay for this. People do not think I am capable of what I am about to do. You better have your heads up to see the missile coming, muahahahaha”. Of course nobody believed him. A few weeks later Crazy Frog was spotted by the army radar on his missile heading towards the east coast. Immediately President Obama fled to the UK. The police has announced that he is very dangerous, heavily armed and should be considered a terrorist. On the 21/06/09 crazy frog attacked the White House. The president’s home was annihilated. Thankfully there was nobody there. Below is the last picture of both the White House and crazy frog. It was taken in the last seconds before impact.

Before watching the game on TV I went to my neighbor who has a small well in his garden that is not at all profound. There we played Playstation and on the computer. I later went home to watch the game.
Apoel played terribly, but we managed to finish 1-1 and won the championship. When we tied the game, the Anorthosis fans threw stuff at our goal keeper which was incomprehensible because he did not provoke or do any anything controversial. As he walked away from the goal, I could see him muttering to the referee, but it was incoherent to the rest of us.
After the game finished, the centre of Nicosia was colored orange because everybody was out celebrating, particularly outside the fan club. We were partying before the players came. On their arrival, flares lit the sky, smoke bombs were set off. It was so much fun we used all the superlatives we knew to describe it each other. At 12, I had to go home. I watched a few movies and slept.axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-20971113138669563292009-03-12T10:51:00.000-07:002009-03-12T11:28:24.123-07:00Twister Film Critique- Science and English

\
Director- Jan de Bont
Starring- Helen Hunt
Bill Paxton
Jami Gertz
Cary Elwes
Philip Seymour Hoffman
Alan Ruck
Zach Grenier
Release date- May 17, 1996
Running time- 113 minutes
Budget: US$92,000,000

TV weatherman Bill Harding is trying to get his tornado-hunter wife, Jo, to sign divorce papers. A series of intense storms is sweeping across Oklahoma. Soon they have joined the team of stormchasers as they attempt to insert a revolutionary measuring device up some verry violent tornados.

Scientist point of view:
Hi, my name is Dr. Howard Bluestein and I am a professor of meteorology at the University of Oklahoma. You might have heard about my work with Dr. Al Bedard and Carl Ramzy on TOTO (TOtable Tornado Observatory), a large, instrumented barrel-shaped device that was suposed to enter the path of a tornado. Our objective was to place TOTO directly in the path of a tornado, where it could, theoretically, record valuable information about the tornado's structure. TOTO was used several times during the 1980s, but unfortunatly, we had repeatedly failed to position it for a direct hit. On April 29, 1985, TOTO was left near the edge of a developing tornado near Ardmore, Oklahoma. However, it was blown over, even though the tornado had relatively weak winds. Many people have told me that “TOTO was the inspiration for an instrument package named Dorothy in the film, Twister.” For this reason I decided to watch the film and critisize it.

Watching the film was a great idea because it showed how people developed our ideas and tried to make it usefull. Dorothy was a remake of our own TOTO. This film showed some reasons why our model did not work. One of two main problems in TOTO that became evident was putting it in the field. Putting TOTO directly in the path of an oncoming tornado required an astronomical amount of luck. The probability of perfect placement was decidedly low. The other problem TOTO presented was the danger it posed. Unloading and setting it up may have taken 30 seconds, a long time when a twister is bearing down on you. Despite TOTO's 400 pounds, a tornado could easily take the device along, transforming TOTO from a tool of science into a flying barrel of death.
The film had only one unrealistic theme to it, when the two observers were flying in the middle of the tornado. There is no way somebody could survive that. In a real F5 tornado there should have been multiple cars and houses in there smashing into them. With all of that, as the expert I am, I only give them a 0.1% of surviving.

My only problem with this film is that they show us the main character angry that they stole his idea without giving him credit, they shouldn’t expect me to be a little ticked of. In some Moslem countries women cannot even vote and do not have the same rights as men.
The basis for this situation is the Koran is the holy book of the Moslems. In it is the testament of the Prophet Mohamed and sets out the way a good Moslem must behave.
Many women say that what is in the Koran describes how the women were treated during the 7th century and should not apply to the present.
In fact, for the 7th century, the Koran’s treatment of women was actually progressive as it set out their rights in marriage, divorce and protected their property. There were also opportunities for education, even though the life of most women revolved around the house.
A Moslem man was allowed to take four wives but had to treat them all equally. Even so, he was responsible for the family and the woman had to obey him. And though women had the right to property, daughters were allowed half the inheritance compared to their brothers.
And if they went to court, their word also counted for half the weight of that of men.
Time has since changed and so has the status of women, worldwide, including in some Islamic countries.
Some of these have changed the laws to ensure equal rights for women. Several Islamic countries have elected women as leaders and women there have successful careers. Examples include Pakistan, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
There is also an Islamic feminist movement that quotes from the Koran and say that it protects the rights of women. Their efforts have concentrated on educating women in the villages about their rights even though they know that it is difficult because traditions are strong.
But in other Islamic countries the situation is very different. Afghanistan during the rule of the Talaban is one of the worst examples of how badly women can be treated by men who say what they are doing is the law of the Koran.
There young girls were not allowed to go to school. Very few women could work. They could not go outside unless they had a male relative with them. And when they did they had to wear the burqua that covered them completely, with narrow slits for the eyes. Their husbands were allowed to beat them and divorce them for no reason. Any woman found guilty of not being faithful to their husband was stoned to death in public. When the Taleban regime collapsed, the women in Afghanistan were able to return to work and to school. They were even able to compete in sports—things that we take for granted in the west.
Aghanistan may have been an extreme case, but even in Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia women do not have the same rights as men. Although there has been progress, it is slow, perhaps too slow.

/

axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-15361262555515000462009-02-19T08:53:00.000-08:002009-02-19T08:54:00.231-08:00shabanu anticipation guide1. Is it possible to experience love at first sight?
I disagree with this statement because if you fall in love with someone before you get to know them you will love them for the wrong reason. It is more important that you get to know them and their personality, and not get carried away by first impressions and appearance. Just as we are told not to judge a book by its cover, we must give time to get to know someone and not rely on first impressions only..

2) Two complete strangers stuck on a deserted island could learn to love one another (and yes, stay with one another after being rescued).
I both agree and disagree. I agree because when you are stuck with someone you get to know them. In this case, particularly, as they have to cope in difficult conditions they need to work together and trust each other and if they can survive being just the two of them, then it will easier in a more ordinary situation. On the other hand I disagree because it is possible that returning to normality each will go their separate way and live the life they were used to.

3 It is a good thing to sacrifice your happiness for the desires of others?
I agree but only up to a certain point and provided that someone is not taken advantage of. Parents always make sacrifices for their children because they take pleasure in seeing them happy and want to give them a better life than they had. I would be happy to make a sacrifice for a friend as I think it is part of our friendship to be able to share. But I would be angry and upset if this relationship was not mutual and I was taken advantage of.

4 Women in your society are free citizens.

I agree because women in our society have the right to vote and equal job opportunities. There are many women who have proven that it is possible to be as successful as men. But it is also up to the women to demand what is rightfully theirs and not to sit back and wait for it to be given. For example in some places in the countryside in Cyprus women may not be treated equally, because society is less modern but there has already been great improvement compared to the past.axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-24601898081626305242009-02-11T07:08:00.000-08:002009-02-11T07:09:59.642-08:00comparisonI liked the film and the book verry much but I prefered the film a bit.
The film is better because sometimes in the book theres to much action to picture in your head were as in the film its there already. Also in the film there wasn’t as much action, but you could understand the plot a lot easier. The film was also very nice because most of the scenes where almost exacly the same. Also for some reason I concentrate and absorb the information easier when im watching instead of reading.
Although I prefer the book there are a few things that I didn’t really like about it. It missed a lot of scenes like: when Ponyboy gets jumped, when soda is mocking the reporters, when they magicaly transport themsleves from the train to the abandoned church, when they dont show us the place at the court, and most importantly for me when pony has his breakdown after Jonnys death. I think that leaving the scene where ponyboy gets jumped is a bit stupid because it doesn’t introuce us well to the book. Also I think it was important that they put the court scene because the way they showed it on the film it was as if everyone completely forgot about what happened that night at the park. Most importantly they didn’t show ponyboys breakdown. Doing that they made us think that he just easily got over johny’s death, when realy he was verry depressed and sad.
Another bad thing is the fact that it’s not in first person. In the film we can’t hear ponyboys ideas and feelings, where as in the book we know exactly what he is feeling almost all the time.
To sum it up, the film had some bad things to it but I enjoyed it more than the book because its easier to understand.axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-13667972277317589012009-01-22T08:26:00.000-08:002009-01-22T08:27:28.345-08:00axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-15666045984233606432009-01-13T10:05:00.000-08:002009-01-13T12:06:24.900-08:00Podcast!!!

Episode –Manchester United Football FanCast031
Date –September 27, 2008
Time – 28:48
Website – I found it on iTunes. It had a link: http://podcasts.footballfancast.com/manchester_united_fancast/296027/manchester-united-football-fancast-031/

Description of episode by producer:
Arf and Jonni review the week!

Why I chose it
This podcast talks about a match a long time ago, Chelsea-Manchester (first round). The score was 1-1. The commentaters criticised all the players, mostly the Man Utd players. They said that if it wasn’t for Ronaldo then we wouldn’t have a chance. They also talked about our next game with Tottenham.
I chose this podcast for two reasons. One of the reasons is because I needed a recap from our last game with them, and I wanted to remember what happened since we played against them on Sunday. Knowing what happened and listening to the explanation of an expert helped me see our mistakes. Once I had learnt about these mistakes I could see if the team had done anything to change them in order to improve. They had.
Another reason why I picked this podcast is because I love my team and I’m interested to see where we lost points, and why. We lost points we should not have with Chelsea since we played better than they did, but luck was against us.
After listening to this podcast I will probably listen to the other podcasts by footballfancast because it was very interesting and informative.axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-30676492195837331062009-01-10T05:19:00.000-08:002009-01-10T05:36:33.523-08:00crazy frog attack

Two months after the hijacking of a missile, the producers of the Annoying Thing have still not renewed the crazy frog’s contract, putting the president’s life in danger yet again. “We do not negociate with terrorists,” were the word said by Erik Wernquist, the creator of the Annoying Thing.
From LA the crazy frog is now moving towards San Fransisco, where intellegence say that he might have The Golden Gate Bridge as a target, killing thousands and destroying the tourisism of the United States of America. One day when he went to the pharmacy he met Fox, the woman that changed his life.

Wesley has a gift that he is unaware of. That is the ability to curve a bullet (see trailer below to see what I mean by that). Fox (Angelina Jolie) had instructions by the fraternity of assassins to approach Wesley and make him join them. He was unsure whether he should join, but after he was shown his abilities he was desperate to exercise them. He turns a new page in life, leaving his boring normal life, and became one of the most wanted men in the United States of America. Along with the other assassins he attempts to accomplish every goal that set to him.

This film has many special effects that make the movie even more interesting. For example there are a few scenes that I personally think that are impossible to do in real life. One of them is when Mr. X jumps from one building to the other. This shows his determination to accomplish the tasks by the fraternity. My favorite one is when Fox makes a hand break turn and the car spins more than five times and when it stops Wesley is thrown in. I like this scene because the hand break turn is precise and there are no mistakes made.

I believe that all of the actors play their roles excellently and they pass on the message of the character in the best way. James McAvoy makes you feel the change in his character. When he was working he was relay down and his actions made us feel that way. After when he became cooler and self-confident, it gave me the idea that he had mature and he was ready to face the dangers of life.

Angelina Jolie acted really well. When we first meet her she is all innocent and cute, until she grabs the gun and shoots at everyone. Also I think the role really suits her because of all of the tattoos and Fox is really rebellious throughout the film.

I have put two trailers because they both miss important information that the other one gives.

axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-91141999022076882642008-10-12T11:36:00.000-07:002008-10-14T09:41:20.342-07:00biography
Jennifer Aniston was born on February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California. She grew up in New York City. Both of her parents were actors.
Her father, John Aniston, is a Greek American born in Crete, Greece. Some of the soap operas he has played in include: Days of Our Lives, Love of Life and Search for Tomorrow. Her mum was born in New York City. Aniston has two step-brothers, John Melick and Alex Aniston.
Jennifer lived in Greece for a year when she was a child, but then she moved with her parents to New York City. She went to the New York Rudolf Steiner School and graduated from Manhattan's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
Jennifer did not have a great start in her career. She worked in Off Broadway production. She needed to earn money, since she had an economic struggle, and she did that with part-time jobs and even working as a telemarketer and bike messenger. In 1989, she moved to Los Angeles, California.
Aniston moved to Hollywood and was acted in her first television role in 1990. She also co-starred in Ferris Bueller. The show was a hit but unfortunately of Jennifer it was quickly canceled. Aniston was unlucky with her career since she appeared in another two failed television comedy shows. She was a guest in a few shows like Quantum Leap, Herman's Head, and Burke' Law. Jennifer was helpless. She was in so many unsuccessful shows land films that she considered that she should give up acting. When she was ready to lose hope, a miracle happened. She audition to what was to be one of the best shows of all time, friends.
Friends is a sitcom starring 6 friends in new york city. They all live in the same building. Friends did great and lasted for 10 years.
Originally the producers thought that Aniston would be better to audition for Monica Geller, which was played by Courtney Cox, but she managed to make them believe that she was better for the role of Rachel Green. I think it was one of the best decisions they ever made because she did an excellent job.
The program was extremely successful. The hairstyle she had during the series, which was known as the "Rachel", was widely copied. Aniston was paid one million dollars for episode on the last two seasons of Friends. That means she got over 42 million dollars just for those two seasons! She won five Emmy nominations (two for Supporting Actress, three for Lead Actress) and won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.
She married Pitt on July 29, 2000. Their marriage was considered a success. Pitt showing up to the Ocean's Twelve premiere without Aniston created rumors that their relationship was not very good. On January 7, 2005 they announced their separation.
She has appeared in many film like Rumor has it nad the break up.

Jennifer Aniston (2008) last update 4th of october 2008
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Anistonaxipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-44005402928144183352008-10-12T09:52:00.000-07:002008-10-13T02:49:02.559-07:00crazy frog attack
Crazy frog is on the loose! Also the adults see things differently than we do and they are deciding our future. If the adults choose to do something that we don’t want then there might be anarchy.

All stories can have a happy ending if those involved work towards it

I disagree with this statement as well. That is because sometimes it’s not just working hard, it how much luck you have. Also even if you are really good at the job but you don’t have a rich family, someone who isn’t as good as you might get the job because he has connections.

Literacy (being able to read) is a form of freedom

I agree and disagree with this statement. I agree with it because if you know how to read you get to choose what you want to believe in. The reason I disagree with this is because it depends who writes it. If it’s a capitalist then they will probably be against the socialists. In other words they might give you the wrong idea about things. Some people might say “You have the right to choose what you’re going to read”. Well maybe things aren’t like that. If you are living under a dictatorship you will have to read those kinds of books if that what the government allows, since you need to be educated.

Civilizations without a written language cannot document history

I agree with this statement. If it can’t be recorded then it can’t be kept. Even if it continues orally something might happen and the whole village will be destroyed, so no one can ever knowaxipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-39277310134222915842008-09-18T12:32:00.000-07:002008-09-18T12:54:14.456-07:00secret lives of teachers
Wow the teachers summer isn’t as boring as we think it is. They do all kind of crazy things! This is one of the teachers summer and believe me, you’re going to freak out!
Ms Theodotou went to the beautiful capital of Catalonia, Barcelona. She went to see the friendly game between Barcelona and Arsenal. The game didn’t turn out really well for her though since arsenal lost 3-0 and two of the goals were own goals!
After the long night she decided to go to the beach the other morning to cool off and get her mind off things. She sees a picture of a beautiful one, or should I say they made it look beautiful. So Ms T. arrives there and she sees a deserted beach with disgusting sand filled with cigarette buds and plastic cups. Despite all these things she sits on a sun bed and enjoys the silence and relaxes.
A few hours later she wakes she gets up and goes for a swim, not noticing the red flag that was put there while she was resting. There was one more person that went that same time for a swim. That was a huge mistake for both of them.
Being the excellent swimmer that she is, in less than 5 minutes she was way in the sea that the beach was barely visible. She noticed that the waves were strong. The other person that was swimming started to scream. MS T. TO THE RESCUE!!! She swims quickly towards him and notices that there were fins circling him turning around him. There were 5 sharks surrounding him. Since they were so far in and the waves were so strong it was impossible for them to go back and get help.
The poor guy was scared to death but ms T couldn’t really do anything. If she tried to go in and get him she would probably get eaten alive, but that was risk she had to take. She somehow needed to distract the sharks so they would back off and she could free the grown man. She swims to the bottom of the sea searching for something she could make a big splash.
She finds a huge piece of rock and throws it. Nothing changes. Out of nowhere a dozen of dolphins appear. Half of them take the sharks and risk their lives while the other ones take Ms T and the man safely to shore.
They look back and they see the sharks leaving from the sea going into the deep. Out teacher and the stranger remain speechless and thank the dolphins for saving their lives. They see them in the distance doing their tricks and waving goodbye!axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9062838119596310279.post-28736397640532163182008-09-14T06:08:00.000-07:002008-09-23T09:48:52.731-07:00matchbox 20Matchbox Twenty is a rock band formed in Orlando, Florida in 1996.
Its founders Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, and Paul Doucette performed in the band Tabitha's Secret which originated in Orlando Florida, with fellow members John Stanley and John Goff, before splitting to start a new band (what was to become Matchbox Twenty). After recruiting Adam Gaynor from Criteria Recording Studios in Miami and Kyle Cook from the Atlanta Institute of Music, the lineup was complete and ready to begin.
Matchbox Twenty has sold over 44 million albums worldwide from their albumbs yourself or Someone Like You, Mad Season, and More Than You Think You Are. They released their latest album, Exile on Mainstream, on October 2, 2007. The current members of the band are Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Brian Yale, and Kyle Cook. Rhythm guitarist Adam Gaynor left the band in 2005, after performing on their first three studio albums. Rob Thomas is the principal songwriter and lead singer. Their last album ranked 3rd on the billboard.
I like this band because their songs have really good lyrics. Having good lyrics is very important because it makes you feel like you are actually part of the song. Also I’m really into rock and the music they perform is excellent. Its real rock! My favorite songs are “How Far We’ve Come” and “Bright Lights”

I like it the most because it’s fun. In other words we learn the story by having fun, and if something is funny there is a bigger chance that you will remember it because it will stick to your mind, whereas if it’s boring you will hear it once and then forget it exists. Also there isn’t a lot of detail that makes it a lot easier if there is a lot of detail like the other two it’s a lot easier to get confused and then forget it after all that information. It is so much you can hardly even keeping it in your head. It’s also straight forward. It gives the basic ideas and by knowing that it is very easy to understand the story. Also using those basic ideas it gives you a clear picture of what the story is going to be about. Having fun and learning is the best thing!!!axipowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12531479062427275430noreply@blogger.com0
